Leilani McGonagle and Emily Gussoni classified to the semi-finals of the VISSLA Isa World Junior Championship in category U-18. Malakai Martinez made it to the quarterfinals but was not able to advance, coming in the fourth position of his heat.

The Costa Rica surfing team participated in the final of the Aloha Cup and finished in third position which earns them the bronze medal; Hawaii took the gold medal with a score of 46.02, France had the second place with 43.64, Costa Rica 39.47, and Japan came in last with 38 points.

Leilani McGonagle goes up against Raiha Ensor from New Zealand and Juliette Brice and Nina Reynal from France in the semifinal tomorrow, Sunday, September, 25th while Emily Gussoni will face Spaniard Ariane Otxoa, Brosa Hennessy from Hawaii, and Vahine Fierro from Tahiti. If they classify to the finals they will compete again later tomorrow.
