Costa Rican renowned journalist Glenda Umaña, was in charge of revealing the news about the start of the project “Hombre de Fe” (Man of Faith), a movie based on the life of national goalkeeper Keylor Navas who currently plays with Spanish team Real Madrid.
“Man of Faith” will begin its pre-production stage next month and will be filmed between May and June, with the expectation of releasing the film in national theaters by December 25th, 2017.
The team in charge of the creation of this movie includes: Executive producer, Jorge Obando; Dinga Haines, producer; Luis Carballar editor; Christian Herrera director of photography wo has participated in films and T.V. shows such as Criminal Minds, Pretty Little Liars and Beyond Boarders; Jorge Quesada and Liliana Ghiraldini art directors, and Michelle Duverrán in charge of wardrobe.
Keylor Navas joined the press conference through Skype video call, “For me this is a thrill, many things have gone through my mind, this was not one of them. So it’s in moments like this that I realize how amazing God is in our life, that he does things that one can’t even imagine”, he stated, and continued to thank his family for their support, “I want the message to be that with faith and discipline we can go a long way”.
The goalkeeper, a native from Pérez Zeledón, has become an idol and role model for “Ticos”, who look up to him for his great achievements, discipline, leader qualities and his humble personality.
A casting for the movie will be taking place March 17th and 18th at the National Stadium, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. those interested in participating can register at casting.keylornavaslapelicula.com
The production is looking for five people to fill the following roles:
Keylor Navas as a boy and young adult, his parents, his grandparents, trainers. They will also look for extras to play different roles.
Navas and his family will also appear in some scenes.
A percentage of the funds collected will be donated to some of the projects supported by the Costa Rican idol.
