The Art City Tours are organized with the purpose of introducing national and international visitors to some of the country’s most beautiful museums and different spaces of cultural importance in the middle of the capital city of San José.
These events take place every two months, which makes the Art City Tour that takes place Wednesday, September 13th, the second to last event this year.
In this occasion the Art City Tour is titled “Chepe bajo la lluvia 2017” (San José under the rain 2017), it starts at 5 p.m. and concludes at 9 p.m. The tour is, as always, free of charge, and includes three modalities: Tours on foot, by bus or bike tours.
The Art City Tour “Chepe bajo la lluvia” will visit the National Museum, the Temporary Art and Design Museum, the Calderón Guardia Museum, SatisFactory and the National Gallery and Penitentiary Museum, among others.
In total there will be five routes and 20 spaces to discover. The bus tour requires prior reservation, but the bicycle and the walking tours do not require reservation.
Art City Tours in San José started out in February 2010, every year the number of attending public grows, with last year reaching a total of 17,043 participants. It is an initiative carried out through public – private alliances and financed by company’s sponsorship that understand the importance of “investing in culture” as a way to implement dynamic and sustainable change in the society. The tours allow visitors to see the beauty and history of the city of San José while getting familiar with the art and culture the country has to offer.
