Nine companies and institutions received the recognition Costa Rica Incluye (Costa Rica Inclusive), for their good practices of social and labor inclusion of people with disabilities.
The recognition is promoted by the Business for Development Association, the second Vice-President of the Republic, the Work Ministry and the National Council of People with Disabilities (CONAPDIS), in alliance with the United Nations Development Program and the International Labor Organization.

A jury, formed by representatives of all members of the alliance, checked the evidence of the participating companies, applied verification forms, provided a score and their criteria.

The companies and institutions that received the recognition, per category are:

Community and Inclusion: Etiquetas Impresas Etipres, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell
Physical Space Accesibility: Coopesuperación
Inclusive Hiring: BAC Credomatic, Boston Scientific, Coopesuperación, Megasuper Corporation, Etiquetas Impresas Etipres, Pizza Hut, SCOS and Taco Bell.
Inclusive Customer Service: Taco Bell and BAC Credomatic
Accessible Products: BAC Credomatic and Technology Institute

Thanks to these companies we move towards a more fair and inclusive society, that is looking at a human development where no one stays behind”, stated Ana Helena Chacón, Vice-President of Costa Rica.

Costa Rica Inclusive is an initiative that recognizes the initiatives, programs and actions of the public and private sectors in the country, that generate and maximize the inclusion of persons with disabilities to become inclusive spaces, as a strategy of corporate and national sustainability.

During 2016 500 people with disabilities were hired, goal that supports one of the main challenges of inclusion of this population in the country: access to a deserving job.
