The province of Cartago has many wonderful touristic sites, mountain destinations that provide the perfect hideaway, places to step away from the noisy and busy city life and find yourself in touch with nature, clean air and amazing scenic views, even if its just for a day its worth the trip.
Along the road that takes you from the city of Orosí to Tapantí there is a place called Monte Sky, an ideal destination for those that enjoy peaceful walks among nature it’s an awesome alternative for a one-day tour.
This private ecological reserve of 253 hectares is dedicated to the conservation of nature and Eco-tourism; the reserve is commonly visited by biologists and groups of students, but it also opens its doors to groups of tourists.
Monte Sky offers 3 kilometers of trails, an easy walk for most. Visitors will find themselves enjoying the view of the waterfall named Mirando Al Cielo (Looking at the sky) which is 82 meters high, there’s also another one by the name El Duende (The Dwarf), several small waterfalls can be seen along the trails, in total there are 20 throughout the property.
The fresh air and beautiful views bring you to immediate relaxation.

After you have explored the area of Monte Sky, head over to Orosí Viewpoint (Mirador de Orosí), a mandatory stop when you are in this area, many consider you have the best views of the central valley from here. Keep in mind it closes at 4:30 p.m.
