At least 100 neighbors of the community of Playas del Coco in Guanacaste are currently being affected by heavy floods due to the overflow of rivers.
Apparently some people are trapped in their homes, businesses and even some in their cars since the streets are now under at least one meter of water.
The heavy rain that has been falling in the area since Tuesday evening and through this Wednesday morning affected not only the community of Playas del Coco, but also other Guanacaste communities like Abangares, Cartagena, Santa Cruz, Huacas, Santa Ana de Belén de Carrillo, Bebedero de Bagaces and Hermosa Beach.
The heavy rain that fell in the area since Tuesday evening and through this Wednesday morning affected not only the community of Playas del Coco, but also other Guanacaste communities like Abangares, Cartagena, Santa Cruz, Huacas, Santa Ana de Belén de Carrillo, Bebedero de Bagaces and Hermosa Beach.
Costa Rica is currently under alert for heavy rains expected for later this Wednesday and the rest of the week. The Central Valley, the Pacific and the North and South Zones are under yellow alert while the Caribbean is under green alert.
