Barranquilla, Colombia, May 21 (EFE).– Colombian songstress Shakira said Saturday in her native city of Barranquilla that she has no plans to marry Barcelona soccer star Gerard Pique and dismissed recent rumors that she is expecting her third child.

“For now there is no plan for a wedding, nor am I pregnant,” the artist told a press conference that brought to an end her four-day visit here to shoot a music video of the song “La Bicicleta” with compatriot Carlos Vives.

Asked about possible wedding plans, the singer-songwriter said “We’re very happy the way we are, and for now there are no plans for marriage.”

“And because I have paparazzi at my door going through the garbage to see if they can find any proof of pregnancy, let me make it clear: I’m not pregnant, so they can go home and wash their little hands,” she said.

About the video with Carlos Vives, she called it “a very happy opportunity because it’s a song that represents the two of us very well,” and described it is a combo of vallenato and reggaeton.

“I feel honored that he invited me to take part in this project, and it has also been a great experience working shoulder to shoulder with him on a song that is a tribute to our country and to our people,” she said.

Scenes of the video in which the two are seen setting out on bicycles were shot this week in Barranquilla and in Vives’s old hometown of Santa Marta, as well on the beaches of Puerto Velero and in Salamanca Island Road Park, all on Colombia’s Atlantic coast.

With regard to the way she handles her activities both as a mother of two and as an artist, Shakira said: “Daddy (Pique) helps me so I can spend plenty of time in the recording studio and he says: “You’d better make one really spectacular disc.” EFE
