The United States Secretary of Labor, Rene Alexander Acosta, who leads the entourage that represents Donald Trump’s government arrived in Costa Rica this Monday afternoon to take part in the presidential inauguration ceremony Tuesday, May 8.

The Secretary of Labor did not offer a statement to the press, he was accompanied by Costa Rican Sandra Cauffman who is the Deputy Director of the Earth Science Division along with Juan Cruz, Special Assistant to the White House. The group was welcomed by US Ambassador to Costa Rica, Sharon Day.

Representatives of other countries also made their arrivals throughout the day to attend the ceremony; among them, the presidents of Ecuador, Panama, Guatemala, El Salvador, Dominican Republic and Bolivia, the first minister of Aruba, a representative of the Netherlands, chancellors from Venezuela, Uruguay, Peru and Chile, to name a few. Other nations will be represented by their ambassadors.

The presidential inauguration ceremony will be celebrated at the Plaza de la Democracia in San Jose, the event will be carbon neutral, and the president and his team will arrive at the event aboard the first and only fuel cell hydrogen electric bus in the country, Nyuti (which means “Star” in Chorotega dialect).
