One of the most glamorous part-time residents of Costa Rica decided to honor Earth Day by planting a tree in the backyard of her beach mansion.
In a recent photo uploaded to her massively followed Instagram account, former Victoria’s Secret model Gisele Bundchen can be seen planting with the help of her two children. Ms. Bundchen, who retired from the runway last year, has lately been spending more time in Costa Rica.
Ms. Bundchen included the following message with her Instagram update:
“Our lives depend on the health of our planet. Honoring Mother Earth on her special day.”
The message above included a version in Ms. Bundchen’s native Portuguese for the benefit of her numerous followers from her native Brazil. This is not the first time that Ms. Bundchen shows her concern for environmental conservation on Instagram; in fact, her social media accounts showed various updates that made reference to the importance of Earth Day in Costa Rica and around the world.
As previously reported by The Costa Rica Star, Ms. Bundchen has been on an extended vacation with her husband, star NFL quarterback Tom Brady of the New England Patriots.
Depending on their busy schedules, Mr. Brady and Ms. Bundchen spend between two and three months in Costa Rica each year. For Mr. Brady, staying in Costa Rica during the off season has become a ritual, and Ms. Bundchen spends even more time with her children at the Playa Herradura estate when her husband is engaged in his NFL duties.
The life of this fabulous couple in Costa Rica has not been without controversy. During their 2009 wedding, bodyguards working for Brady and Bundchen fired their weapons several times at photographers on assignment for AFP. The photographers sued in Puntarenas court.
