35 golf players, among them professionals and amateurs participated for a spot among the athletes representing Costa Rica in the PGA Tour Essential Costa Rica Classic; only 10 qualified and will be part of this international sporting event that will take place at Playa Conchal, Guanacaste, May 1st-7th.

The classifying event took place at Cariari Country Club, and after three days of competition the top 5 amateur and 5 professional golfers where defined.

Robert Twine, Juan Marín, Alejandro Duque, David Van Horn and Valentín Quirós are the five professional players that made it through.
In the amateur division, Joonil Kim took the first slot, followed by Paul Chapet who was recently crowned Central American champion; Andrés Russi, Julián González and Manuel Jiménez.

The 2017 edition of the PGA Latin American Tour will have the participation of 144 golfers from 26 countries. This is the first time that Costa Rica becomes a stop for this prestigious event.
