Jurgen Klinsmann head coach of the U.S.A. male National Soccer Team (U.S. MNT), announced the list of players summoned for the upcoming CONCACAF hexagonal games against Mexico and Costa Rica.

Midfielder Jermaine Jones was called to join the team, and will be evaluated to ensure he is in good physical condition; other young figures such as Cameron Carter-Vickers, Lynden Gooch and Caleb Stanko are also part of the roster for the upcoming matches. Sixteen players have previous experience playing against Mexico, 11 of them in World Cup Qualifying clashes.

Captain Clint Dempsey is out of this next phase due to an irregular heartbeat that has had him out of the field since September.

This Friday, November 11, USA will host the game against Mexico, in the MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus, Ohio; four days later, November 15, they will travel to Costa Rica to face La Sele at the National Stadium.

The qualifier between USA and Mexico is expected to have added tension due to the victory of Donald Trump in the US presidential elections.
U.S. MNT has beaten Mexico in the final qualifier games in the last four World Cup’s hex rounds (2001, 2005,2009 and 2013) that have been disputed in Columbus.

“We have the intention of continuing with the tradition of winning in Columbus, and the selection of these 26 players allows us to have different options for both games”, said Klinsmann
