The United States Male National Soccer Team had no issues controlling the elimination match against its equal from Panama this Friday, October 6 at the Orlando City Stadium in Orlando, Florida and in front of a crowd of over 25,000 fans.

USMNT beat Panama 4-0 and took the third place in the CONCACAF group with 12 points, not enough to get them their classification to the Russia 2018 World Cup but enough to put them in a comfortable position. Now they only need to get passed Trinidad and Tobago next Tuesday, October 10, a team that isn’t going through their best moment and that lost yesterday in their match against Mexico 3-1.

The first goal by the USMNT came only 8 minutes into the game by young talent Pusilic; the second goal would come just 10 minutes later with a play concluded successfully by Jozy Altidore.

Panama showed big defense weaknesses and errors, their rythm was too slow and the two early goals made them even more sloppy.

Panamanian Armando Cooper caused a penalty which resulted in the third goal right before the conclussion of the first half; at minute 43’ Altidore executed a perfect penalty

It was Bobby Wood who scored the last goal at minute 63’.

This result leaves Panama with 10 points and a -2 in goal difference which puts them in a complicated position.

Costa Rica’s “La Sele” will face Honduras today at the Costa Rica National Stadium, the match was reprogrammed from Friday to Saturday as a result of the bad weather that affected the country these past few days.

La Sele will need to at least pull a draw against Honduras to earn its pass to the Russia World Cup, Honduras is in desperate need of a win and has proven to be a tough rival for the Ticos.

Costa Rica will play again Tuesday in Panama, while Honduras will go on to face Mexico.
