Kids like staying active and experiencing different things, as parents sometimes we run out of ideas on where to take them for entertainment purposes and going to the beach or taking tours is not always an option, for this reason we are giving you here a few ideas of different activities for kids in Costa Rica all of them are in the metropolitan area:

Children’s Museum: This is a good place for kids 2 through 12, located in downtown San José, the Children’s Museum presents an interactive experience for kids, contrary to most museums, here kids can touch everything and learn at the same time. The place is constantly changing up some of their exhibits, sometimes they have dinosaurs, others they’ll have superheroes. Here kids can learn about science, the planet we live in, the human body, communications, art, etc. Kids can learn and explore safely and they will have fun learning. The Children’s museum is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Go Karts: For kids 7 years old and up, karting is great option of entertainment. There are two main places where you can take them in San Jose, Formula Kart is located in Curridabat, 200m East from the Indoor Club; the second option is FiK (Fonseca Indoor Karting) in Lindora, Santa Ana, Adult karts are available too, so it is fun for the whole family; both places have fast food restaurants, pool tables, foosball tables and air hockey tables.

Bowling: A great alternative for kids 7 and up. There are two places where your kids can learn to bowl, Bol Cariari which is the newest one located near the Cariari Mall and Boliche Dent in Barrio Dent, (close to San Pedro).
Trampoline Parks: Kids are always jumping, so this is a fantastic option for them. Skyjump is one of the first ones that opened, it is located in the center of Santa Ana in the Furati sports complex; Jump Center is another alternative and it provides more options, there is one in Lindora, Santa Ana in the Via Lindora shopping center and another one in Tibás near EPA. Adults are also allowed to jump.

Parque de Diversiones: The amusement park never gets old, if you live in Costa Rica it is a good place to visit at least once a year. There are rides for children all ages and adults of course.

Mini Golf: For the time being there is only one place that offers mini golf in Costa Rica and that is Jungle Safari in the Via Lindora shopping center in Santa Ana. 18 hole mini golf course that is actually a lot of fun. This place is located in the same shopping center as Jump Center in case you want to make it a day and enjoy both activities.

Indoor Roller Skating: Happy Town Skate & Fun Zone and Patines Magic in San Pedro and Heredia are the three options available for kids to learn and practice roller-skating in a fun and safe place
