The Association Costa Rica por Siempre (Costa Rica forever) , the Ministry of Environment and The National System of Conservation Areas are promoting the visitation to five Costa Rican National Parks through the contest: CRx5 Challenge (Desafío CRx5).

The five parks picked for this contest are: Palo Verde, Tortuguero, Tapantí-Cerro de la Muerte, Carara and Arenal Volcano.

CRx5 Challenge encourages nationals and legal residents to form teams of 3-5 people, all the participants need to be at least 12 years-old; the teams have to register online (for free) and will have eight weeks, from April 5 through June 2 to visit all five parks and complete a series of challenges.

In each of the parks the teams must complete up to five challenges, that will earn them points, the team must also take a group photo next to the Association’s sign displayed at each of the locations, the photo must be uploaded to the designated Facebook page tagging the organization’s profile and using the hashtags #DesafioCRx5 and #TeamName and a brief text telling others why they would encourage the visitation to each of the parks.

The contest’s rules and information on each of the challenges are available in the webpage desafio.costaricaporsiempre.org

Between the teams that complete the challenge the organization will award a prize of $800.00 to the first place, $200 to each the second and third place and $200 for the best photo. The best photo (la foto más chiva), will be selected among those postulated by the teams, the selection will be done by a jury integrated by members of “To the Wonder” a photography blog and photo tour operator based in Costa Rica, the jury will pick 5 photos and these will be published in Facebook for the public to vote for their favorite.
