Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas continues with his achievements, yesterday he played his game 100 with the Real Madrid and celebrated along with his team by winning the Spain Supercup; today Navas was nominated along with another 24 male candidates to The Best FIFA Football Awards.

This is the second edition of this award ceremony which will take into consideration the candidates’ performance and achievements between November 20, 2016 and July 2, 2017. Out of the 24 candidates, six players are from Spanish club Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo, Dani Carvajal, Toni Kross, Marcelo, Sergio Ramos and Keylor Navas.

Ronaldo is of course the favorite to take the award for second consecutive year, after he helped his team win the Spanish League and the Champions League.

The candidates were picked by a panel of experts, but the winners in each category will be selected by groups that will cast their votes, among them trainers, team captains, media and fans. Voting will begin August 21 and will conclude September 7; at the end of the month FIFA will announce the three finalists in the categories of Best Player, Best Female Player and Best Trainer, the Puskas award (Best Goal) and The Best Goalkeeper.
