Costa Rican boxers continue to make headlines, this time it is Costa Rican Female World Champion Yokasta Valle who will be back in the ring September 9 in Puerto Rico with the hopes of earning another world title in a different weight division.

Valle is the Light-Mini Flyweight Female World Champion (102 lbs) of the International Boxing Federation (IBF); but this time she is going after a title with the World Boxing Organization in the 108 lbs division against Japanese Naoko Fujioka in Puerto Rico.

Fujioka is 41 years old and has a record of 16 wins and 2 losses, while the Costa Rican is 24 years-old and still undefeated with 13 wins.

Valle earned her first world title back in December 2016 when she faced Mexican Ana Victoria Polo. She was back in the ring in March 2017 fighting in the 105 lbs category with Panamanian Yaditza Pérez in a fight that took place in the San José Central Park and which Yokasta won by Unanimous Decision.

Yokasta is the second female World Boxing Champion in Costa Rica after Hanna Gabriels who also recently announced her next title defense that will take place in October.

Yokasta is leaving August 22 to Las Vegas, Nevada to meet with the rest of her team, her stablemate Francisco Fonseca will be fighting August 26 against Gervonta Davis in the Mayweather vs. McGregor co-main event.
