International Design Festival and Art City Tour this weekend in Costa Rica

Creative minds will gather for three days in La Antigua Aduana building in San José, Costa Rica from March 10th to March 12th for the seventh edition of the International Design Festival (FID17).

This year the event will have the presence of regarded world leaders in the areas of graphic design, photography, architecture, publicity and product design; Zosen and Mina Hamada visual artists who focus in murals and paintings; Alejandro Magallanes a Mexican designer ; artist Daan Roosegaarde famous designer from the Netherlands are just a few of the guests of the International Design Festival, which will also present over 30 FID projects.

The event is open to anyone looking for creative inspiration. According to Paco Cervilla, organizer of the event, this year they expect the assistance of 550 people from 14 countries, which will generate an estimate $130,000.00 USD to San José; in addition the organizers expect the assistance of close to 2,000 people, based in the experience from previous years.

The Art City Tour will also be part of the International Design Festival and will take the public to several exhibits with different options of transportation for the tours: bus, bike and by foot. The tours begin at 5 p.m. and will extend through 9 p.m. Different routes have different stops as you can see in the images included in the slider. Some of the exhibits are:

We believe that the future of these events is not about speakers and conferences, but about mixing the creative world with the business world”, mentioned Cervilla. For this reason a series of activities has been planned to take place a La Libertad Park in Desamparados, where students and business owners will have the opportunity to share ideas with four guests and link together creativity with business management.

Tickets to attend the event for the three days will have a cost of $80 for students, $100 general admission and $150 preferential access. The event also includes different one and two-day workshops such as: Creative Type with Serial Cut and Designing Experiences.
