The “Festival de La Luz” or (Parade of Light) in Costa Rica is already a tradition in Costa Rica and will take place December 17 in San Jose. But the Christmas activities are not exclusive to the capital city, and for the third year in a row, the neighbors of Quepos in Puntarenas will have their own Bright Lights Boat Parade.
Around 15 to 20 boats will bring lights and fun to residents of Quepos and visitors in the touristic area of Manuel Antonio and surroundings on Friday, December 9th starting at 6 p.m. at the Marina Pez Vela.
This parade, which is traditional of Newport, Rhode Island, USA, will also offer: live music with the performance of the Costa Rica Big Band at the Amphitheater starting at 6 p.m., the Circo Silbawak performance at 7:30 p.m., the main event of the boat parade will begin at 8:30 p.m. and finally the show will close with fireworks. The three boats with the best light show will receive a price
This event is hosted and organized by Marina Pez Vela since 2014. Entrance to the event is free although it is recommended to make a previous reservation by calling 2774-9000 or arrive early to assure a good spot. The Marina also offers dining venues where you can enjoy a great view of the show.
