The fifth edition of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week San José is already scheduled for August 2 through August 5 and like in previous years it will take place at the Real Intercontinental Hotel in Escazú.
Artistic show Chapter One (Video below) will open up the event on August 2 with the participation of national and international fashion designers.
Jennifer Lang , Fabrizzio Berrocal, Daniel Moreira, Cinthia Monge, Consuelo Melo (Muss Muss), Rob Chamaeleo, and María José Castro are the Costa Rican designers that will be showcasing their talent this year, in what has become the most important fashion show in the country.
Model and entrepreneur, Leonora Jiménez, explained that this edition will have some changes in the format, “The methodology used to select the participants was changed. We implemented a method that helps us guarantee that we have the presence in the activity of designers that already have a established career, a consolidated brand and have a level of prestige, from the seven spots we have available for national designers three are awarded to designers that fulfill these requirements, in this case J. Lang, Fabrizzio Berrocal and Daniel Moreira; this new format allows us to demand a higher level of professionalism of the industry in the country”.
Jiménez, who is also the director of Traffic magazine, also confirmed they are working on an alliance with other Central American countries that will guarantee exposure to national designers within the region.
The names of the participating international designers as well as the dates for the model castings will be announced in the upcoming days.
